Programme notes: additional text

The "Grünzweig March" by Anton Blaton is a completely unjustly almost forgotten march in the repertoire of wind band music. This march was composed to honour the regimental commander of the same name. The connection between the music and the dedicated personality gives the piece a special meaning and emotional depth. Anton Blaton was a composer of the Austrian K.+K. period, who was active in the field of wind band and military music. The "Grünzweig Marsch" is an example of Blaton's ability to combine catchy melodies with powerful orchestration to create an emotional response in the audience. The march is a piece that takes the characteristics of a traditional march and fuses them with melodic elegance and powerful orchestral sounds. The music reflects the virtues and strengths of the regimental commander to whom the piece is dedicated. From radiant fanfares to lyrical passages, the march conveys a mixture of pride, respect and devotion.
