It is set in the golden age of cathedral construction and reflects all the splendour and cruelty of the Middle Ages. Thierry Deleruyelles work is the perfect equivalent of the novel. With a good sense of suspense, the composer succeeds with his music in making long gone times comprehensible and bringing them to new life.
