Additional info/contents	The United States Continental Army Band is a long-established U.S. military band known for its versatility and musical excellence. Timothy J. Holtan, commanding officer from 2014 to 2017, shaped the band by incorporating modern works, including Philip Sparke's composition "To a New Dawn" (2001). This work musically connects the challenges and hopes of the 21st century with memories of the previous century. The composition features a vibrant trumpet introduction, dynamic thematic development, and virtuosic solos. Sparke juxtaposes tradition and modernity, with the reprise of the opening theme symbolizing continuity. The band interpreted the work as an expression of renewal and hope.
