Additional info/contents	The work was composed in 1996 on behalf of the Dutch Institute for Wind Music (NBI) with the support of the "Fonds voor de scheppende Toonkunst". It was selected as a compulsory piece for upper school competition games in the Netherlands. This work was premiered by a project orchestra consisting of students from the Coesfeld and Bilthoven (nl) music schools. In this four-part suite, each part celebrates a different type of wine. All of these wines originate from the small village of Savigny-les-Beaune in Burgundy and are made by a winemaker named Pierre Guillemont. The excellent quality of the wines inspired Rob Goorhuis - himself a lover of good wines - to write this composition. The first three parts are about three red wines made from the Pinot Noir grape. They all carry the “Premier Cru” label. The inspiration for the last part came from a white wine created from Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. The characters of the different parts not only give an idea of the taste of the wines, but also an impression of the vineyard and its surrounding landscape. I. Les Narbantons (Giocoso) II.
