Additional info/contents Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and author. She is known for her powerful voice, energetic stage presence, and career spanning several decades. Tina Turner is often referred to as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" due to her contributions to the genre and her immense success.

Tina Turner rose to fame in the 1960s as a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, a musical duo she formed with her then-husband, Ike Turner. Together, they achieved several hits, including "River Deep – Mountain High," "Proud Mary," and "Nutbush City Limits." However, their marriage was marred by domestic abuse, and Tina eventually left Ike and embarked on a solo career.

Her solo career took off in the 1980s with the release of her album "Private Dancer" in 1984. The album featured the iconic hit singles "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Private Dancer," which brought her international recognition and multiple Grammy Awards. Tina Turner's success continued with albums like "Break Every Rule" (1986) and "Foreign Affair" (1989), solidifying her status as a music icon.

In addition to her musical achievements, Tina Turner has also ventured into acting. She appeared in films such as "Tommy" (1975), "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985), and "What's Love Got to Do with It" (1993), a biographical film based on her life.

The Best is a song written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight, and produced by Desmond Child. It was originally recorded by Bonnie Tyler on her 1988 release Hide Your Heart (in the US the album was titled Notes from America). The single reached number 10 in Norway and number 95 in the United Kingdom. The single was released on a CD in 1988 along with two rare tracks that Tyler recorded, "The Fire Below" and "Under Suspicion".

I Don't Wanna Lose You is a song by US singer Tina Turner. The pop ballad was released in November 1989 as the second single, and in some territories the third single, from the album Foreign Affair. The song was written by Albert Hammond and Graham Lyle and produced with Roger Davies for Turner's album Foreign Affair. The lyrics are about the protagonist, who is searching for true love, not wanting to lose a loved one.

We Don't Need Another Hero is the theme song for the film Mad Max, written by Graham Lyle and Terry Britten. The song is part of Tina Turner's permanent live repertoire, during the performance she appears in a costume similar to the one in the film. The singer describes the song as one of her career highlights.

Mark Knopfler originally wrote the song Private Dancer for his band Dire Straits. It was therefore also to be included on the album Love over Gold, but later Knopfler felt that a woman was better suited to sing the song. However, he also used the melody of the chorus of Private Dancer in the chorus of the Dire Straits track Love over Gold. The band accompanying Tina Turner is Dire Straits; however, instead of Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck plays the guitar solo in the song.
