Additional info/contents	Grease is a 1978 film based on the 1971 musical of the same name. It stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. John Travolta, already known in 1977 for the film Saturday Night Fever, was able to consolidate his status as a star through Grease. Olivia Newton-John, until then only known as a country and folk singer and not yet commercially very successful in Europe, was able to increase her fame considerably through the film. The film's theme tune was composed by Barry Gibb. John Farrar wrote "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want", other songs were written by Louis St. Louis. The film's soundtrack was a number one album in many countries. In the UK, the two Travolta/Newton-John duets, You're The One That I Want and Summer Nights became number one hits. The film's title song was also a number one single for Frankie Valli. US ska band Less Than Jake recorded rewrites of parts of the soundtrack. The eight-track album was released in 1996 and was called Greased.
