Additional info/contents The Cossacks are primarily known as a feared horsemen who defended their country with their soldiers from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Cossack culture includes wild horsemanship and weapon games, as well as rousing dances and moving, melancholic songs. During a trip to Russia, composer Franco Cesarini was inspired by the beauty of the songs and traditional dances to create an arrangement for wind orchestra that authentically captures the spirit of this fascinating music.
