The alphorn - a fascinating musical instrument. There would certainly be many more points to mention that inspired Kurt Gäble to write his new composition "Begegnung". The work in the unusual instrumentation of alphorn and wind orchestra accompaniment is musically divided into three parts and contains an Andante, Allegro and Espressivo part. There is also the possibility to perform the solo parts with existing instruments in the wind orchestra (see list below). But the fascinating effect and real "encounter" can certainly only be achieved with original alphorns (in tune F)!
