Additional info/contents	Valdemossa, a town situated in the mountains of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, inspired composer Matthias Rudolf to write this work for Symphonic Concert Band. The rhapsodic structure, the melody line, and the harmonization of this approximately ten-minute-long composition follow the example of classical European compositions. The work consists of several sections, of varying character, which merge together. Calm, pensive passages alternate with expressive lyrical and rhythmic parts connected by a theme that returns in different variations. Right at the beginning of the piece, in the calm adagio, this theme appears in the flute and oboe. Also, the "moderato-lirico"parts are determined by the soft sound of the woodwinds. In the faster parts, the rhythmic element comes forward, reinforced by the inclusion of irregular metres.
