Additional info/contents	This symphonic poem is based on an old legend from Urmond in the south of the Netherlands in the Meuse valley. According to this legend, the village of Urmond has been flooded as a punishment for the immorality of its inhabitants with a lot of victims as a result. Still according to this legend, the minds of these victims appear as small lights shining in the water from the Meuseas a warning for the living. Originally written for fanfare band, The Sunken Village has been adapted for wind band by Judith van Boven.
