Additional info/contents	"In France, there is nothing that is eternal. Like Napoleon's remark to the third, after his defence lawyer told him he was condemned to "eternal imprisonment", there is nothing eternal in music. Following these words, I tried to mix the old with the new in my composition. French ideas, in the style of 19th century music, are constantly alternated with modern ideas, whereby the French (gothic) influence is always noticeable with short leitmotifs (from Tchaikovsky's "1812" and the "Marseillaise"). The work ends with the same theme as it began, showing that the past cannot be denied, that it will always be there, at least in spirit. 20 April 2008 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Prince Louis Napoleon, later Napoleon III and the only honorary citizen of the Canton of Thurgau. To mark this occasion, this composition was commissioned by the "Jugend Brass Band Forum Ostschweiz" with the financial support of the Thurgauer Kantonalbank.
