Additional info/contents	“Pachelbel's Canon" (also known as Canon in D, P 37) is an accompanied canon by the German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. The canon was originally composed for three violins and basso continuo, accompanied by a gigue. Neither the date nor the circumstances of its composition are known (supposed dates range from 1680 to 1706). Since the 1980s, it has been increasingly used in the Western world at weddings and funerals. Steve Cortland has written a recent arrangement for concert band, fanfare, and brass band.
