More specifically, he wanted a work that showed off the versatility off the instrument, written in a musical style that is both fresh and modern and gives the orchestra a prominent, central role. Taking this into account, Thomas Doss created a work takes stylistic leaps, is fun, exciting, romantic and virtuosic, and has a thread that connects the opening measures to the last.
