Additional info/contents	During a music holiday camp, Marc Jeanbourquin composed 'Spiral' for ten musicians, including himself. Given the success of this piece, he took up the theme again a few years later and developed it further. With a wink to Camille Saint-Saëns, a composer he greatly appreciated. The alternation between minor and major keys and between binary and ternary time signatures, with the occasional 2/4 time signature, in no way disrupts the continuity of the piece, which was the source of inspiration for the title. A percussion intermezzo, interrupted by irregular time signatures, brings the piece to a renewed exposition of the original theme, ending in a crescendo.
