Additional info/contents	Josef Strauß wrote his Polka française "Feuerfest" in 1869 on the occasion of the sale of the 20000th iron safe of the Wertheim company. The Viennese cash and safe manufacturer advertised its products as "fireproof", even with impressive public demonstrations in which the safes were exposed to strong fire. The title for the composition was thus quickly found. As a special effect and as a dedication to the blacksmith's trade, a rhythmic anvil sounds again and again during the composition. Siegfried Rundel (1940-2009) arranged this entertaining concert polka by Josef Strauss with all its wit and charm for large wind orchestra.
