Additional info/contents	"Ritual Pictures" is a musical fresco inspired by the ritual celebration during the famous "Ducasse de Mons" (Belgium) and also recognised by UNESCO as a masterpiece of immaterial heritage. The piece is presented as a series of variations in one movement, all based on the same theme: the "Air du Doudou", the emblematic melody of the "Ducasse de Mons" and the symbol of popular worship. In contrast to the well-known principle of variation of a theme, "Ritual Pictures" consist of about ten variations before the theme itself can be heard. This unusual sequence is built up slowly, with the "Air du Doudou" being the highlight, just as the battle between "Saint-Georges" and the dragon is the highlight of the "Ducasse". A variation with a special character concludes the piece with a final variation.
