Additional info/contents The idea for this piece comes from the fact that the subject area "animals" in particular stimulates children's imagination. Although the character traits of the individual animals are hinted at, they must be brought to sound by the performers themselves and in a very effective way.

At the same time small scale studies and interval exercises are hidden in the work (e.g. bars 9, 32 or 39).

The children should also get to know practical music, which will definitely be used in their further musical path: march, fanfare, bass solo + accompaniment, drone accompaniment, etc.

The use of different terms for "march", such as defilement or procession, also broadens the musical vocabulary of the young musicians.

In any case, the "parade" is intended to give the performing children fun and pleasure in making music together.

Programme notes: additional text

The composition "Parade of the Animals" by Stefan Ebner is an enchanting and instructive work that was conceived especially for children to stimulate their imagination and playfully familiarise them with various musical elements. The idea behind this piece stems from the fact that the theme of "animals" awakens a rich imagination in children and inspires their creativity. The work aims to musically suggest the character traits of the individual animals, while the performers themselves have to make these traits sound effective. It challenges the young musicians to discover and develop their musical expressiveness. In this way, the composition not only conveys the fun and joy of making music, but also encourages artistic individuality and personal creative freedom.

An interesting feature of "Parade of the Animals" are the built-in scale studies and interval exercises that support the children's musical learning process and expand their technical skills. This enables the young musicians to playfully improve their technical skills and consolidate their musical foundation. Another important aspect of this piece is the introduction of the children to the music of use. Various musical forms and terms such as march, fanfare, bass solo with accompaniment and drone accompaniment are introduced to the young musicians. These diverse musical elements expand the children's musical vocabulary and prepare them for their further musical path.

Ultimately, the fun of making music together is in the foreground. The "Parade of the Animals" is intended to give the children pleasure and encourage them to become actively involved in the music. Playing together in an ensemble promotes social interaction and teamwork, while the imaginative musical elements stimulate the children's imagination and transport them into a magical world of sound.

All in all, the composition "Parade of the Animals" by Stefan Ebner is a wonderful piece that promotes the musical development and enjoyment of young musicians. By combining fantasy, technical exercises and various musical forms, the work offers a holistic musical experience that will accompany and inspire the children on their musical journey.
