Additional info/contents	Manfred Sternberger's 2017 composition "Overture of a New Life" is a musical dedication to the birth of his grandson Christoph. It builds upon his earlier work "Pictures of a New Life" and combines joy, hope, and new beginnings with a clear musical structure: A celebratory fanfare leads into a dynamic rondo theme, a lullaby-like middle section with Brahmsian allusions forms the emotional core, while the recapitulation and finale conclude with heightened intensity. Sternberger unites personal emotions with traditional and modern elements, underscores communal values ​​through the use of a wind orchestra, and thus enriches the modern wind band repertoire.
