Additional info/contents	Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote the text in 1944 while imprisoned by the Gestapo as an expression of trust and hope despite the Nazi threat. Siegfried Fietz set the poem to music in 1970, creating a catchy melody that became particularly popular in free church circles. Martin Scharnagl arranged the piece for intermediate-level wind orchestra, preserving the original melody while adapting it to the ensemble. In 2019, the song was performed at the "Woodstock of Wind Music" in Ort im Innkreis (Upper Austria) as part of an ecumenical service – broadcast live on ORF III. The performance demonstrated how the song connects tradition and modernity and serves as a symbol of hope and comfort.
