Additional info/contents	To celebrate their 100th anniversary, the municipality of Schmitten (Switzerland) and its musical society, the "Schmitten Music Society," commissioned a festive concert piece. Composer Marc Jeanbourquin was inspired by the village's coat of arms in honor of the patron saint of blacksmiths, St. Eloi. The title of the work derives from the fact that the name of the municipality literally translates as "The Forge." After a majestic overture, the rest of the piece is based on a chorale accompanied by energetic rhythms. The image of the blacksmith is also present, with percussion beats resembling those on the anvil. In "The Forges Of St. Eligius," the melodies will undoubtedly linger in the audience's ears until the end of the concert.
