Available for either flute or E-flat clarinet, this piece playfully imitates the lively activity of a sparrow. The solo voice skillfully imitates the characteristic chirping and lively movements of the little bird. Virtuoso runs and trilling passages bring the cheeky character bird to life. The accompaniment by the wind orchestra provides a harmonious soundscape upon which the "feathered soloist" can indulge to his heart's content. The sheet music edition of "The Sparrow" is professionally designed and includes the score and a director's note in C, as well as all the necessary individual parts.
