In music, a "slap stick" (whip) refers both to a counter-stroke idiophone whose sound is intended to imitate the crack of a long whip without endangering fellow musicians of the percussionist, and to a real whip which, when used musically, is classified as a free distraction aerophone according to the Hornbostel-Sachs system. |
