| Definition/synonyms |
A "seven-parts ensemble" is a common configuration for small wind groups. It combines various brass instruments with percussion and is suitable for a wide repertoire, ranging from traditional wind music to modern arrangements. The lineup includes one to three trumpets or flugelhorns, a trombone, a tenor horn, a baritone horn, a tuba, and percussion. The number of trumpets or flugelhorns may vary depending on the specific piece and the group. |
