Additional info/contents	Václav Nelhybel's composition "Corsican Litany" (1975) is a work for intermediate-level wind orchestra that draws on Corsican mourning traditions. Inspired by the historical funeral songs "Lamento" (for natural deaths) and "Vocero" (for murders, with dramatic vows of revenge), Nelhybel uses the melody of a "Vocero" sung at the funeral of the country doctor Mateju approximately 200 years ago. The piece begins meditatively, reflecting the melancholic mood of the "Vocero." Nelhybel blends traditional elements with a modern musical language, creating an emotional journey that makes the cultural significance of the "Vocero" tangible.
