Additional info/contents	Florian Pranger's overture "Through the Gschnitz Valley" for wind orchestra translates the musical tradition of the Gschnitz Valley: A solemn Andante maestoso in E-flat major symbolizes the vastness of the Alps, a lively Allegro in A-flat major its folk festival character, while the Adagio captures the valley's connection to nature. Solos for tenor horn and baritone emphasize the regional instrumentation, and the finale unites all the tonal colors in an optimistic mood. This very simple overture is already very well playable even in small formations (25 musicians) due to the extremely pleasing sounding instrumentation. (© musicainfo.net)
