Additional info/contents	Gustav Peter's composition "Erinnerung an Zirkus Renz" (1894) is a popular solo piece for xylophone and a classic work of circus music. Inspired by the lively atmosphere of Circus Renz—one of the most important entertainment institutions of the 19th century—the piece combines virtuosic passages with catchy melodies in the style of a fast gallop. Ernst Gruner's arrangement for xylophone and intermediate wind orchestra made the work accessible to amateur orchestras.
