Additional info/contents	The work was commissioned by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Asociation in 1968 and is dedicated to Leonard Falcone on the occasion of his retirement as Director of Bands at Michigan State University. The theme and subsequent three fantasies are a constant metamorphosis of the principal theme from the fourth movement of the "String Quartett, op. 76, No. 2" by Joseph Haydn. The piece is a reworking of the orchestral piece "Hommage to Haydn".
