Programme notes: additional text

Stylistically, this work is based on conventional models: To be more precise, it is based on the spelling of the era which has gone down in music history under the name of "Romanticism".
The "festive music" begins with a triadic "Allegro sostenuto" that soon rises to a dynamic culmination. This catchy introduction is followed by a thirty-six-bar, songlike "Andante", which is first played by the widely scored brass, in the middle section by the tenor instruments and finally - as a "grandioso" - by the plenum of the wind orchestra. It is followed by the "Allegro sostenuto" of the beginning (this time, however, with a fuller instrumentation) which is now - extended by some final confirmations - increased to a meaningful finale.
It can be performed effectively by any upper to middle level orchestra, provided that the individual stops are filled as completely as possible.
