Programme notes: additional text

On 7 May 1909, the first concert of the - as the newspapers reported - 64-man "Kaiserschützenkapelle" took place on Waltherplatz in Bolzano. This festive evening concert took place within the framework of the great prize shooting of the Austrian mountain regiments held in Bolzano. The (Kaiserschützen) march was an enormous success and had to be repeated. It was also printed - which was absolutely unusual at the time - at regimental expense and sent to all 110 music bands of the troop bodies of the Danube Monarchy at the time, both for wind and string orchestras.
