Additional info/contents Austria is a busy country. Hardworking and ambitious people have achieved a lot in a century that was marked by extreme changes with two world wars and numerous political turmoils. Despite all the problems in transforming from a royal and imperial world power to a small state, Austria has found its independence. With the Austrian Overture, Thomas Doss dares to look ahead to the future. The first part describes the future very optimistically. In addition to joy and drive, there is also a touch of musical humor: small yodeling melodies keep sneaking in to the powerful cheering of the horns. Catchy melodies vie for the ear's favor, while the rhythm strives forward and seeks new paths. Away from the well-known paths, there is also contemplative Austria, where you can enjoy peace and the beauty of the landscape. The second movement describes these impressions in delicate melodic weaves, romantic arches and surprising chord connections. But the wheels never stand still: work, hard work and creativity are the motor of life. A powerful finale, a reprise of the first part, provides an impressive conclusion to the piece.
