Additional info/contents	The Schneewalzer is one of the best-known waltz melodies in the German-speaking world and originated in Carinthia, Austria. As the single title Jägerständchen, the waltz appeared in 1887 in Thomas Koschat's Op. 71, Ein Sonntag auf der Alm. Even though the composer gave the credit of having created his melody using Carinthian folk tunes, which cannot be found in any archives, he is to be considered the original author of the waltz. The popular title Schneewalzer (Snow Waltz) was only created around 1900 and is based on the words of the beginning of the text of the original version.
