Programme notes: additional text

"Tutti-Frutti" is a term that can have different connotations in music. Originally from Italian and meaning "all fruits", the term has developed its own meaning and history in music. In the context of music, "Tutti-Frutti" usually refers to the Little Richard song of the same name, which was released in the 1950s and had a major influence on the development of rock 'n' roll. However, the term can also generally stand for colorful, diverse or varied musical compositions and performances.

In addition to the specific meaning of Little Richard's song, "Tutti-Frutti" in music can also stand as a metaphor for diversity and variety. The term can be used to describe musical pieces or performances that combine different styles, genres or elements. Such compositions are characterized by their colorful and diverse nature, offering the listener a rich and varied experience.

Examples of "tutti-frutti" styles
- Medleys: A medley that combines different songs or melodies into a single piece can be described as a "tutti-frutti". This type of composition offers a colorful mix of different musical elements.
- Cross-genre compositions: Works that combine different musical styles, such as classical and jazz or rock and electronic music, can also be called "tutti-frutti". These pieces are characterized by their stylistic diversity and creativity.
- Experimental music: Artists who experiment with different sounds, instruments and techniques often create works that can be considered "tutti-frutti". These pieces of music are often unconventional and offer the listener a wide range of sound experiences.

The term "tutti-frutti" has both a specific and a general meaning in music. It is inextricably linked to the iconic rock 'n' roll hit by Little Richard that revolutionized the music landscape of the 1950s. At the same time, "Tutti-Frutti" can also be used generally to describe musical works that stand out for their diversity, variety and colorful mix of different elements. In both contexts, "Tutti-Frutti" stands for innovation, energy and creativity in music.
