Additional info/contents	Utopia is a book by the English author Thomas More, which was published in 1516. The title is a word thought of by More himself, after the Greek language, meaning Nowhereland - it has led to the creation of the words utopian and utopianism. Utopia pictures an ideal state on a island far from civilization as we know it. This concept is the basis of the composition, which makes one think of Oregon in its variety of themes and styles. Utopia also has a combination of styles that breathe the atmosphere of film music. However, Utopia sounds less American. The slow and stirring middle part, for example, is closer to European romanticism: the chord signals in the cornet and trombone sections remind us of Wagner's music. (© De Haske)
