Additional info/contents	Numerous historical Swiss marches can be found in the repertoire of the Swiss Army Central Band. Particular for this composition is the combination of orchestra and tambours. In 1923, Hermann Suter wrote the music to the play Wettstein und Riehen by Albert Oeri to which the popular Wettstein-Marsch belongs. The drumming part for that march has been written by Dr. Fritz Berger. The drummers in the Swiss Army Band look back at a long tradition and a admirable history. To take up arms or to march in a military formation without a drum beat was not imaginable. After the War ended, the drummers converted to a permanent element of the Swiss Army Band. With the variety of their compositions that reach far beyond the usual repertoire, they manage to fill the audience with enthusiasm in every country.
