Composer Spicher, Walter
Difficulty level 4
Duration 4:15
Additional info/contents "Welcome to the Music" has the formal structure of a "song". The intro, which contains a dynamic "greeting" or "welcome fanfare", is followed by a 16-bar refrain with a lively melody, which is repeated several times alternating with "verses" or "couplets". The coda feigns a "fadeout" from bar 121 and ends in an expressive final climax.
Optionally, an electric bass can be used, which should be combined with 'Percussion 1 (special part)' if possible, which can of course also be used without an electric bass.
The piece is playable for good intermediate or advanced orchestras and is suitable as an (opening) concert piece, but also for other social occasions.
