Programme notes: additional text

You have to identify with this ambivalent historical figure to express the dichotomy in melodies, sounds and rhythms that Attila may once have gone through psychically. On the one hand there is the merciless warrior and conqueror who breaks into Europe after the migration of peoples and spreads fear and terror here - on the other hand a person who feels and suffers. The author seeks to make both sides aware of their conflict.

The idea for "Attila" was born in Niederrimsingen, today part of Breisach am Rhein, where the legend goes around that Attila would be buried in the vineyards of Tuniberg.
