"Yes, the study of women is difficult" is what Lehár had his men sigh, and even Loriot resignedly noted that "men and women don't seem to go together". Women's rights activists will comment on this archaic choice of words with angry disapproval, but there is hardly any other way to formulate this sigh. Much more original is the solution that some directors have found: after this showpiece of male (macho) helplessness, they let the women sing the song again - with quasi reversed roles. Probably the most honest and best solution. The wind band version is exactly one whole tone lower than the original, which will make it easier for many to perform.
The order of the "Final Waltz" and the "Women's March" can be changed if necessary; both solutions are equally effective.
