Der Marschkönig Joseph Franz Wagner komponierte sein opus 264 1878 anlässlich der Enthüllung des "Erzherzog Johann Denkmals" am Grazer Hauptplatz, bei der auch Kaiser Franz Joseph anwesend war. Den weltbekannten Jodler hat der Komponist im Mittelteil des Marsches eingebaut. Außerdem bemerkenswert: Weiterer Jodler im Trio mit Wiedererkennungswert!
