Programme notes: "Das Modell" is an operetta in 3 acts by Franz von Suppé, text by Ludwig Held and Victor Léon. The first performance was on 4 October 1895 at the Carltheater in Vienna. In spite of an advanced illness Suppé had decided in 1895 (after a break of 7 years) again to write an operetta, but had to stop the composition after only a few acts. After his death, Julius Stern and Alfred Zamara arranged and completed the music from these few numbers and allegedly some melody notes. Quelle/Source: f-v-Su.de
