Programme notes: The “76 Regiment March” by Anton Rosenkranz: A symbol of Burgenland Anton Rosenkranz's "76 Regimental March" is an outstanding musical work that has gone down in history not only as a march, but also as Burgenland's cultural heritage. Originally composed as a military march, this piece has over time acquired a special meaning for the residents of Burgenland and has become the home march of this Austrian region. The march took place during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Monarchy and was originally intended as a parade march for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Infantry Regiment No. 76. Rosenkranz's music embodies the strength, discipline and pride of the soldiers who once served under this regiment's banner. The melody is characterized by powerful dynamics and reflects the military tradition and cohesion that the regiment embodied. After the First World War and the collapse of the monarchy, the "76 Regimental March" retained its importance and became a symbol of identity for the newly founded Burgenland.
