Programme notes: Since its first performance in 1853, Giuseppe Verdi's famous opera "Il Trovatore" has been one of the most frequently performed works of the music theater. However, a funeral march does not appear in this opera. In this instance, Hans Kliment therefore is more than a mere arranger, as he forged this march on airs - e.g. the famous Miserere of act IV - from this opera. Even in the somber attire of a funeral march Verdi's music does not lose its appeal. It rather is the source of this composition's special attractiveness.
