Programme notes: A short part in three-four time with flugelhorn and tenor introduces this piece of music. The first waltz starts with a very simple melody that can be found again and again up to the coda. In the second part woodwind and brass take turns in their topics. The second waltz hides playful woodwind solos which lead to a powerful bass solo. The coda reflects the introduction and the first waltz again and then leads to a short ending section.
