Programme notes: Throughout the world of wind music, the name Karol Pádivý is associated with the "Pochod textilákov", the "March of the Textile Workers" or "TEXTILAKU" for short. This composition established Pádivý's fame beyond the borders of his native Czech Republic. But it is precisely this march that should also be the stimulus for more and more intensive study of this composer's multifaceted and extremely high-quality oeuvre. Every year, a wind orchestra festival takes place in Trenčín under the name "Padivys Trenčín". The work of the composer should thus remain alive.
