Programme notes: It is a tradition in Austria to take up motifs from the folk musical heritage of a landscape and to design them symbolically and this is also what Manfred Sternberger takes up in this composition. He starts from a dance melody and then processes a spiritual folk tune, symbolizing the joy and seriousness of life. The "Jucker", a pictorial name, i.e. a dance in which you really itch to take part, is a folk dance from the Montafon and there the Marienlied Wunderschönchtige was also recorded. The Montafon, to which Sternberger dedicated this small, but very attractively designed and above all easily playable sound picture, is located in Vorarlberg and is a popular winter sports area.
