Additional info/contents	"The Gods Call (Die Götter rufen) is a ballet pantomime from the operetta "Trauminsel" (Dream Island) which had its world premiere at the Bregenz Festival on 27 July 1962. Other songs from the operetta are "Wem die Sommersonne lacht" (To Whom the Summer Sun Laughs) and the song of the "man-consuming" Donna Rosa "Männer, Männer!

Programme notes: In the small fishing village of Titipec, time stands still and village life goes about its daily course. Ted Leroux, the only stranger in the village, already knows all the inhabitants: the manly Donna Rosa, the terrorising Rodrigo, the beautiful Marinella and her father, the canteen keeper Riccardo. Marinella was promised in marriage to Rodrigo after he rescued Riccardo from the sea after a stormy night. Then the sponge seller Rubio comes to the village and gives his most beautiful and largest sponge to Marinella, with whom he is madly in love. This arouses Rodrigo's jealousy.
