Additional info/contents	This overture takes us back to the early days of the music publisher Kliment. The work's difficulty is rated "medium". At the time "Festklänge" was published, rural bands had a need to perform technically manageable, musically appealing pieces at their concerts. The publisher Kliment pioneered this market segment, following the example of the fine old Austrian compositions written for military ensembles. Such pieces have kept their appeal to this day, and they sound particularly good when played by a sufficiently large ensemble.

Programme notes: The celebratory introduction, with its powerful chords, creates a festive atmosphere indeed. A rousing flugelhorn solo carries the "Andante", while the "Allegro" translates joy and festive cheer into lively melodies. The "Adagio" is more meditative, with an almost religious theme, and prepares the way for the original mood's return in a majestic finale that leaves listeners electrified.
