Programme notes: This cheerfully tuned intermezzo gives all registers the opportunity to demonstrate special fluency. The race begins with the woodwinds, but very soon other instrumental groups are able to accentuate rhythmically. At number 6, for example, it is the tenor players' turn to play an appealing solo part. The opening motif is heard once more, leading into a short finale. Light music of a traditional kind, which must be played in an upbeat and light manner. High-performing middle school bands can enjoy this composition and play it successfully. A composition that can be used in many ways, at a hall concert but also at a morning pint. A little treasure for every occasion, rousing light music that can be performed effectively by an agile orchestra of a good intermediate level.
