Programme notes: additional text

"You always end up producing a waltz motif", said the famous Viennese composer Richard Maux to his student, the young Hans Kliment.
The waltz Sehnsuchtsträume is a consumate example of the conventions that had been in force since the days of Lanner and Strauss the Elder. The introduction is followed by a chain of waltz melodies that eventually gives way to the coda. Melodic richness and elegance make this waltz a piece of unclouded music-making and listening pleasure. Beautiful music that nourishes the soul!
