Programme notes: "Biela Pani" (White Woman) is a cheerful foxtrot by the Czech composer Karol Padivy. The foxtrot is a popular dance music that was popular in the 1920s and 1930s and still exudes a certain nostalgia today. The piece is characterised by a relaxed and upbeat rhythm that invites you to dance. The foxtrot style is characterised by a characteristic step pattern and an emphasis on the second and fourth beat of a bar. The melody is catchy and rousing, and the arrangements by Karol Padivy emphasise the light and playful character of the piece.
